Food allergies are pretty common these days, so we tried to make Re-Lyte options that are accessible to as many people as possible.
When we created Re-Lyte, we wanted a recipe that tasted great, included the essential nutrients for hydration, and contained clean ingredients. Mindful of our customers’ diverse needs, we put together different formulations in hopes of helping as many people as possible. We realize we can’t make something perfect for everyone and, if you have food allergies, some Re-Lyte varieties may not be for you.
Our flavored Re-Lyte varieties contain dehydrated fruit, so if you have any fruit allergies, check the Supplement Facts before purchasing to confirm that the Re-Lyte flavor you’re eying doesn’t contain your nemesis fruit.
All Re-Lyte varieties except Unflavored Re-Lyte and Hydration Support Caps also contain non-GMO coconut water powder because it’s a high-quality, natural source of electrolytes.
Flavored Re-Lyte varieties contain a few additional natural ingredients because dehydrating fruit and putting it into a powdered form causes the flavor to break down and alters the taste. As a result, our formulation partners sometimes use a proprietary blend of ingredients from natural sources to restore and round out the flavor. This proprietary blend of “natural flavors” is between 1% and 2% of the total Re-Lyte formula and each individual ingredient of the blend is even less than that, which is why they are not required to be individually listed on the label.
These flavor houses guard their recipes closely, which means we can't share the final details that make Re-Lyte unique. We can share that the “natural flavors” in flavored Re-Lyte varieties include trace amounts of non-GMO corn maltodextrin. In an unscientific test using a glucose meter, 2krazyketos (minute marks 19:30-25:00) found that flavored Re-Lyte registered “lo,” which means means there was so little glucose that the meter could not detect it. In contrast, a cup of black coffee registered at 38 milligrams of glucose per deciliter.
We understand the concern with corn maltodextrin, so we made Unflavored Re-Lyte and Re-Lyte Caps without this ingredient. They can be your go-to if you want to avoid even trace amounts of corn due to an allergy, a low-carb lifestyle, or any other reason. All Re-Lyte varieties are free from monosodium glutamate (MSG) and invert syrup.
