Thyme is an aromatic, perennial herb that's origins go back to ancient Mediterranean societies. Today, it's grown and cooked around the world. We think it makes a delicious, earthy addition to our Organic Seasonings.
Thyme leaves have a pronounced herbal flavor with sharp wood, floral, and mint notes (thyme's actually a member of the mint family). A lot of people think its flavor is similar to oregano, and it's commonly used to season a variety of savory foods. We think the thyme in our Organic Seasonings adds flavor and depth to everything from meats to marinades to soups to stocks to vegetables.
But thyme does more than add a unique flavor to your foods. It supports respiratory, immune, and digestive health thanks to the vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and iron it contains.
