Why is there vitamin D in Re-Lyte Immunity?

Vitamin D helps keep bones, teeth, and muscles healthy and supports the immune system.

Vitamin D plays many important roles in your body. It supports healthy bones, teeth, and muscles. It's also critical to a healthy immune system, which is why we included it in Re-Lyte Immunity.

Vitamin D is known as an immune modulator, which means it influences how the immune system regulates itself. It supports a healthy inflammation response as well, which supports overall immune health.

Vitamin D is commonly low in a variety of populations. Those with celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, or other GI issues are frequently low in vitamin D. Older adults, those who are breastfeeding, and those who have limited outdoor time and sun exposure are also typically at risk. Vitamin D deficiency has even been cited as a global health problem by the National Institute of Health.

In Re-Lyte Immunity, we use cholecalciferol, also known as vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 helps your body absorb more calcium from the foods and supplements in your diet, which can support healthy muscles and bones.

Both vitamin D2 and vitamin D3 are commonly found in vitamin D supplements, but we chose D3 for Re-Lyte Immunity because it is the most effective in raising vitamin D levels in the blood. Vitamin D3, more so than vitamin D2, mirrors the type of vitamin D found naturally in animal products and produced in response to sun exposure.
