What does the potassium in Re-Lyte Pre-Workout do?

Potassium is an essential electrolyte that can help ward off muscle-related symptoms like muscle cramps, twitches, and weakness.

Re-Lyte Pre-Workout is made with our Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix, which includes the essential electrolyte potassium. Potassium performs some pretty important jobs for your body, including your muscles. It’s necessary for muscle contraction, communication between your muscles, and overall muscular function. It also supports nerve function and helps you maintain a healthy heartbeat.

Potassium is one of several electrolytes you lose in your sweat, so it’s important to replenish it regularly if you’re exercising. If you don’t and your potassium levels get too low, you could experience muscles symptoms like muscle cramps, twitches, weakness, or even muscle paralysis. Low levels can also trigger abnormal heart rhythms and kidney problems.

Some of the potassium in Re-Lyte occurs naturally in our unrefined, ancient sea salt Real Salt. But we also add a form of potassium called potassium citrate in Re-Lyte.

There are a few important benefits to potassium citrate over other forms of potassium. It’s one of the most easily absorbed forms of potassium, for example, and metabolizes quickly in the body.
