We recommend asking your doctor since Re-Lyte Immunity contains elderberry, which hasn't been thoroughly tested in pregnant and nursing women.
Most of the ingredients in Re-Lyte Immunity are considered safe for pregnant and nursing women. The supplement contains a healthy dose of electrolytes (which pregnant and nursing women need more of). It also contains turmeric, which is safe while pregnant and nursing, especially in the 10 mg dose we've used.
Ginger is another important ingredient in Immunity. Research shows that ginger can help with nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, without causing any harm to the baby. And it's safe to take in doses quite a bit higher than the 10 mg you'll find in Immunity.
The only ingredient in Immunity that there's some discrepancy about for pregnant and nursing women is elderberry. That's not because it's been shown to cause harm to pregnant and nursing women or their babies, but because it just hasn't been tested in this group.
Now, we always recommend talking to your doctor before starting any new supplements (particularly if you're pregnant or nursing). But one important piece of information that you and your doctor should consider as you discuss Re-Lyte Immunity is the amount of elderberry in one serving. It's a very modest amount compared to other elderberry supplements (10 mg per serving versus 175 mg per serving). Some doctors may feel comfortable with this dosage (we know some who do), but you won't know until you ask yours. So we recommend reaching out to get their opinion.
