Can I give Re-Lyte Immunity to my kids?

We always recommend checking with your pediatrician, but there aren't any ingredients or dosages in Re-Lyte Immunity that would be harmful to healthy children.

We formulated Re-Lyte Immunity for adults, but there aren't any ingredients or dosages in it that would be harmful to healthy children.

The current research available shows that ginger is safe for children (especially at the dose of 10 mg you'll find in Immunity). Turmeric is also safe for children when taken in small doses similar to what you'd find in food. Re-Lyte immunity contains 10 mg of turmeric. A 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric (an amount you'd likely toss into a stir fry without thinking twice) is equal to 1 gram (1,000 mg). So 10 mg is a very conservative and safe amount.

Elderberry is considered safe for children over 12, but hasn't been studied in children under 12. There are numerous elderberry supplements on the market made specifically for younger children, though, and many parents (and even pediatricians) make the decision to use this immune-supporting herb for children based on its long history of use in herbal folk medicine rather than the latest scientific research. Re-Lyte Immunity contains 10 mg of elderberry, a far more modest dose than what you'll find in elderberry supplements marketed for kids (which contain up to 200 mg).

The electrolytes in Re-Lyte Immunity shouldn't be a problem for children, either. Immunity (like all Re-Lyte products) contains a generous serving of sodium at 490 mg per serving. But the Tolerable Upper Intake Level for sodium is 1,900 mg/day for children 4 to 8 years old, 2,200 mg/day for children 9 to 13 years old, and 2,300 mg/day for children 14 years old and above.

While we definitely recommend checking with your pediatrician before starting your kids on any new supplement, including Re-Lyte Immunity, we believe a serving of Re-Lyte Immunity per day is safe.
