What does the calcium in Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix do?

Calcium is an essential electrolyte that supports healthy muscle function, nerve function, blood clotting, and hormone balance.

Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix includes five essential electrolytes, including the electrolyte calcium. Calcium performs some pretty important jobs for your body. It helps remineralize your bones, supports the contraction of muscles, participates in the transmission of nerve impulses, plays a role in blood clotting, and even helps with the secretion of hormones.

Calcium is one of several electrolytes you lose in your sweat, so it’s important to replenish it regularly if you’re active. If you don’t and your levels get low, you could experience symptoms like dry skin, brittle nails, and coarse hair, muscle cramping, fatigue, and irritability.

Some of the calcium in Re-Lyte occurs naturally in our unrefined, ancient sea salt Real Salt. But we also add a form of calcium called calcium lactate.

There are a few important benefits to calcium lactate over other forms of calcium. It doesn’t contain lactose, so it’s safe for people who are lactose intolerant. It’s also less likely to cause constipation than other popular forms of calcium, like calcium carbonate. The calcium we currently use in Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix is made in the U.S. and follows Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMPs) guidelines that ensure its identity, strength, quality, and purity.
