Should I take Re-Lyte Hydration Support Plus Capsules daily even if I’m not deficient in iodine and I eat a lot of foods that contain iodine?

If you take Re-Lyte Hydration Support Plus Capsules daily, you can still consume quite a bit of iodine in your diet before hitting a potentially unhealthy level.

We created Re-Lyte Hydration Support Plus Capsules so our customers have a simple way to maintain healthy electrolyte and iodine levels. One serving of these capsules contains 150 mcg of iodine—the full recommended daily allowance of iodine for adults.

While it’s pretty uncommon to get too much iodine, it is possible (and it can cause problems with your thyroid). Here are the tolerable upper intake levels (the most you can take without experiencing negative side effects) for iodine by age:

  • Ages 1 to 3: 200 mcg per day
  • Ages 4 to 8: 300 mcg per day
  • Ages 9 to 13: 600 mcg per day
  • Ages 14 to 18: 900 mcg per day
  • Ages 19 and older: 1,100 mcg per day

So even if you take our Re-Lyte Hydration Support Plus Capsules daily, you can still consume quite a bit of iodine in your diet before hitting a potentially unhealthy level.

Of course, if you eat a ton of iodine-rich foods (especially iodine heavy hitters like seaweed and seafood), you probably don’t need to take our Hydration Support Plus Capsules. In that case, consider taking our Re-Lyte Hydration Support Capsules or one of the other capsules in our Re-Lyte line.
